Kim Kibum cast in leading role in his first Chinese drama


Kim Kibum (Super Junior) has been cast in a leading role in his first Chinese drama.

According to SM Entertainment, he’ll be playing the lead in ‘Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils‘. The drama is based on a novel of the same name written by famous novelist Jin Yong in the 1960s. The story revolves around the ‘Eight Races’ of non-human beings in Buddhist mythology. Kibum will be playing the kind, simple prince Duan Yu from the Kingdom of Dali.

Kibum commented, “I’m honored to play such a great role in a great production. As it’s my first Chinese drama, I’m quite nervous, but I’ve discussed my character with the director (Samson Lai), and I will do my best to flawlessly portray Duan Yu’s character as best I can.”

He’ll be acting alongside Hong Kong actor Wallace Chung and Chinese actress Meng Zhang. The drama is planned to premiere in China in the latter half of 2013.

Menurut SM Entertainment, dia akan bermain memimpin dalam ‘Demi-Dewa dan Semi-Devils’. Drama ini berdasarkan novel dengan nama yang sama yang ditulis oleh novelis terkenal Jin Yong pada tahun 1960. Cerita ini berkisah ‘Eight Races’ non-manusia dalam mitologi Buddha. Kibum akan memainkan semacam itu, sederhana pangeran Duan Yu dari Kerajaan Dali.

Kibum berkomentar, “Saya merasa terhormat untuk memainkan peran besar dalam produksi yang besar. Seperti itu drama pertama saya Cina, saya cukup gugup, tapi aku sudah dibahas karakter saya dengan direktur (Samson Lai), dan saya akan melakukan yang terbaik untuk sempurna memerankan karakter Duan Yu sebagai terbaik yang saya bisa. ”

Dia akan bertindak bersama aktor Hong Kong Wallace Chung dan Aktris China Zhang Meng. Drama ini direncanakan tayang perdana di China pada semester kedua tahun 2013.
